PRODUCT OVERVIEW
|
|
|
The
Harley Buckle is designed to securely retain a stand d-ring, and yet
allow reliable and easy release under heavy loads of up to and
exceeding 11,000lb's. The unique trip-latch design is the key to
permitting controlled release under heavy loads and have been field
proven for over 50 years in demanding aviation and military
applications.
Harley Buckles are constructed using rugged aircraft alloy and high
tensile steel (see below for specifications).

Advantages
Because of the unique design of the Harley Clasp,
each device is capable of retaining very high loading, and yet
releasing on demand through the tripping of the release arm. This is
achieved through a patented release cam connected to a high tensile
hook and encased in an air-craft alloy housing. The whole assemblage
is light, strong and highly reliable, with Harley Clasps having
completed many thousands of successful releases throughout their
decades-long services lives.
Form-Factors - Styles
The Harley Buckle is available in three basic
models:
Comprising Model 105, high-load Harley Ejection
clasps are capable of securing and releasing loads up to 11,000 lb's.
Comprising Models 102 and 103, medium-load Harley
Ejection clasps are capable of securing and releasing loads up to
2240 lb's. and have a simple trigger-action release.
For smaller, lighter loads, (up to 600lb's) the
Models 100 and 101 buckles provide a simple twist action locking
mechanism for standard "D" rings.
Auxiliary
Buckles are used in a variety of harness security and fastening
applications, typically to secure webbing or belts, using a D-ring for
one end which attaches to the clasp through the securing release
mechanism.

The release-pressure for each clasp is approximately
20% of the rated load and the release mechanism of the clasp becomes
self-locking at the ultimate load in order that it will not disengage
under crash-loading conditions. |

INSTALLATION: |
|
|
Installation of a Harley
Clasp is as simple as attaching to the webbing, line or sheet using as
appropriate d-ring, bolt or similar, through the provided aperture.
Likewise, to attach the buckle to the tow/fastening line is simply a
matter of releasing the hook using the release arm, to engage the lines
d-ring or similar. No special tooling is required and field installation
is highly feasible. |
|
|
|
LIFE-SPAN - WEAR: |
|
|
The Harley clasp is
designed for long wear-life. The internal moving parts of the release
mechanism - the hook and cam, are constructed of hardened high-tensile
aircraft steel, ensuring a long and reliable lifespan. Usual service
life under rated loads will equal or exceed 3600 releases.
