Material Choices for Scraper Bodies

A, D and M-series default material as (Body): 

• C360 brass

Options:

• C932 bronze C954 bronze, C963 bronze and 416 and 303 stainless steel. 

For some part sizes, 430F and 17-4 PH (grade 630) may be available. 

Generally, 416 and 303 are preferred stainless steel alloys because they include sulfur or selenium. This creates lubricating sulfide inclusions that reduce the propensity for galling and work-hardening, where work-hardening might result from the tribological artifacts (mainly friction)  of the passage of the scraper interfacing surface over the rod. 

These material options are generally available for each series but with some limitations based on size, profile etc.
